The Montblanc 242 fountain pen was not in good condition when I acquired it: the rings of the cap were bent and loose, the surface of the pen was scratched, the engravings barely stood out and
the nib was slightly bent. Unfortunately, the fountain pen was already transparent at the end of the barrel due to years of use.
After thoroughly cleaning all the individual parts, I fitted the pen with a new cork. The piston mechanism was greased and made workable and all surfaces were carefully polished to a high gloss.
